Not only was it hot outside today, but the competition is heating up fast....
We began the day with morning meeting where we gave some "Camper of the Day Awards". We went right into round 2 of conference games followed by canteen and two individual instruction sessions.
The guys really took it easy during rest period today. We've had hotter days over the years, but it's just been such a cool month of June that I don't think we were quite ready for a 20+ degree jump from yesterday. Our high hit 90 today and it felt quite muggy. The campers had plenty of water and were reminded to "hydrate, hydrate, hydrate". We also had cold damp towels around for extra cooling.
Wednesday we have a special day planned. Half of the camp will hike up Old Rag Mountain located in Madison County and the other half will have planned activities here on campus, which will include a hike of our perimeter trail. The campers had a choice. It's great to take a break from the regular schedule.
Enjoy the slide show of todays pictures. It was so good to be outside again. What a beautiful evening!
