Some of the semi final games were played yesterday setting us up nicely to play Championship games this morning. Wake Forest made it to the finals in softball by defeating Navy by a score of 2-3.
Navy would go on to have a rough afternoon too. They were contenders in just about every sport going into Thursday. Unfortunately they suffered losses in not only softball, but soccer vs. Stanford and football vs. Michigan. The Michigan/Navy game picked up after being played until half time Tuesday evening. The final score of this game was 26-13.

Going into the half, the score was 7-6 Michigan. To start, both teams traded scores. At the beginning of the 4th quarter, Michigan scored to take the lead 20-13. Navy then had a chance to tie it up. They were driving down the field and in Michigan territory, they turned the ball over giving Michigan a chance to score. They did just that and the final was 26-13. Michigan then went on to play in the semi final match up at 7 o'clock against Notre Dame. This too was an exciting game. The teams traded scores until Notre Dame simply ran out of time. The final - ND 15 Michigan 18. The championship game will be played this morning at 10:30. The Tigers of LSU will face the Wolverines in what is sure to be a fantastic game. Don't count Navy out yet, they're still alive in hockey. We'll see them tonight vs. LSU.
Yesterday morning, LSU had to face the mighty Buckeye's. "The Ohio State" has been the team to beat in football throughout camp. With their tall quarterback and two tall receivers they seem almost unstoppable, but something happened yesterday... LSU threw a long pass just before the half and it was caught. What an amazing catch it was too. LSU showed signs of life scoring just before halftime. The halftime talk was filled with "we believe we can win this game, so let's do it!" The score in that semi final was OSU 27 LSU 30.
We still have some quarter finals that need to be played today. To start the day, however, we are going to play the lacrosse and soccer championship games. UNC will face Michigan in lacrosse and Notre Dame will face Stanford in soccer. The entire camp will split in half to watch these games at 9am.
Mid morning we'll see LSU take on Michigan over at Johnson Stadium for the football championship. Notre Dame will have to play a semi final game meeting up with Ohio State on the basketball court. They've got a pretty full morning. Go Irish! The other semi final basketball game will be played after rest period. Here Michigan and UNC will meet up again. Michigan too has a busy day, just after their basketball game they'll head over to the softball diamond for their semi-final game against Stanford. Hang in there Wolverines, because if you win, you'll face Wake Forest at 4:45 for the softball championship game.
After dinner we'll divide up again to watch the basketball championship and the hockey finals. With two semi-final basketball games being played earlier, we're not sure who we'll see on the court, but over in the hockey arena we'll be watching LSU and Navy.
The teams that went out of the tournament earlier in the week had a great time yesterday. They had a surprise field trip the White Oak Canyon. It's a beautiful area in Madison county with pristine rivers and waterfalls. I'm waiting on some pictures from that trip. As soon as I receive them, I will put them up.
It's going to be an exciting day. The last full day of camp always is. We'll end it with our final campfire. There will be big awards handed out tonight along with a great skit by the counselors.
We look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow morning. Bring your sunscreen and hats, it's going to be a scorcher here tomorrow. They're calling for 104 degree temperatures. Check out the schedule to the top right of this blog for the activities.
Have a safe trip.
