We began the day with the first "Camper of the Day" awards for the 2013 camp. During morning meeting one camper from each of the five conferences was given this very special honor. A Camper of the Day is one who is a good teammate, exhibits good sportsmanship and leadership.
The weather was suspect this morning, but didn't amount to anything before lunch. We were able to get in a round of games and individual instruction as scheduled. The weather took a turn for the worse during rest period however, but it didn't keep camp from continuing as campers had the option of playing indoor sports, swimming, watching the WFS Varsity Football Highlight reel, or working on their sliding skills outside on a slip-n-slide with Coach Holmes during clinic time. Luckily the weather calmed down by the afternoon round of games at 4:45.
The sun even broke through the clouds in time for the evening games. Now that teams have had a chance to really work together on and off the field, the team dynamics are growing and campers are really starting to connect with their teammates and counselors. We had a great match up on the football field, many campers stopped to watch LSU defeat UNC in football before heading up the hill for values meetings and time at the Fir Tree.
All is well at the Forest! Enjoy your evening and enjoy the slide show!
