Yesterday we went to King's Dominion. After a 90 minute drive to the park the campers were ready to go. Despite the rain, they had a great time. A rainy day at KD is actually quite beneficial. Park attendance is low so our kids are able to get on rides easily and ride them over and over and over again!
This amusement park is set up nicely. There are plenty of places to eat all over. They even have a water park. A few of the guys
opted to stay in the water park most of the day.
Our group wore bright orange WFS Sports Camp t-shirts. They could be
spotted all over the park. Centrally located in the park, is a replica of the
Eiffel Tower. From the top you can look down and see groups of orange all over.
One of the most popular rides is the Drop Tower. This thing takes you up only to drop you down quickly and
then stop mid-air. The look on some of their faces was priceless.
Other favorites included Volcano, Anaconda, Intimidator and Hurler.
Additionally, some of the boys won prizes at the basketball shoot, football
throw and other games.
Our final field trip was a success. The gang arrived back on campus just prior to 8 pm. They showered and held their values meeting and then were off to bed. I noticed Griffin dorm was quiet last night. I guess that means "we wore them out good"!
Today we're gearing up for lots of play off games. Some of our teams will compete in 5 games before the day is over. The weather may play a factor in some of the match ups. It's been pouring buckets since the middle of the night. Good thing we've got two turf fields. Hopefully we can get those outdoor games played today because tomorrow we have a big day planned for the Fourth of July.
Enjoy today and try to stay dry!
