Last evening we held the first of three campfires. After the final games the gang gathered in the Barbee for canteen and then loaded up on buses. In one clean swoop the entire camp was down at the campfire site. Each Friday, designated teams perform skits, every coach awards 'Camper of the Week' and the cleanest room contest winner is announced.
It's always tough being the first teams to give skit performances. There isn't a whole lot of material to work with in just the first five days of camp. However, a few of last night's skits did bring laughter and cheer. We saw some real funny characters last night. Coach Alexander is an easy target and last night he was not immune. Harvard ended up being the winner. They did a skit entitled 'Not the Top 5' which was a satyrical replay of several incidents which occurred over the past few days in camp. The winner is chosen by loudest cheers as a representative stands in front of the crowd. In between skits each conference awarded the 'camper of the week' honor by team. A camper of the week is one who exhibits good sportsmanship, acts appropriately on dorm, and contributes to his team not only athletically but with kindness and support.
All in all yesterday was fantastic. The weather was great and the competition was fun and fierce! Look for the updated game scores later this morning. In the meantime, enjoy the photos from yesterday.
