The Climb

Yesterday's theme was all about 'the climb'- literally and figuratively!

We introduced the outdoor climbing tower to campers. Mr. Nolan LaVoie, the head of our Outdoor Education Department along with Coach Budlong, led groups in an exercise which involved trust and teamwork. For more about our Outdoor Education visit Mr. LaVoie's blog: WFS Outdoor Education

In a more figurative sense teams were 'climbing to the top' in the tournament yesterday. The standings are shown below. Some of yesterday's highlights include two soccer games with the same final outcome. The morning game between Yale and NC State ended in a 1-1 tie and then Yale pulled through with 4 PK's to NC State's 3 PK's. The evening game in soccer between Alabama and West Point ended the same way. Alabama was the victor in that game.

The team to watch right now is Auburn. They pulled off a few wins yesterday and are still alive in five sports. Thanks for keeping things exciting Auburn! The Tigers began their day with a big win over West Point in football. The final there was 18-6. After lunch they played Bama on the hockey court. The final was 4-3 because of a last second shot to break the tie. Immediately following canteen they had to play basketball. It was no surprise that they were able to easily win that game. They are the #4 seed. Their opponent, sitting at #13, was Kentucky. Post dinner Auburn went back to the football field for their game against UNC. #5 seed UNC wasn't giving up easily against #4 Auburn. This game became an instant classic. The final was 14-13 Auburn.
